The Ambient™ Team

We’re a bunch of geeky people who love living in the Pacific Northwest. We’re also a solid team because each one of us brings deep and varied experience to the table in addition to our passion for our clients.

We need IT knowledge to be good at our jobs. To be great at our jobs, we need business know-how, communication skills, and strategy building techniques. What sets us apart is that we don’t just focus on technology. We’re able to look at the people who use the tech we support every single day and work with them to ensure their jobs are easier, and their business runs smoother.

Joshua Brown

CHIEF OPERATIONS OFFICER (COO)

Josh Brown brings his A-game to Ambient every day. He oversees client accounts, client relations, internal revisions and improvements to processes. He assists with offloading tasks from clients so they can focus on their businesses. Josh is the guy who gets stuff done. On his days off, you’ll find Josh enjoying board games with his buddies or playing golf when the weather is nice.

Janelle Christensen

SERVICE MANAGER

Janelle Christensen is a solver of puzzles both on and off the job. Janelle manages the service department as well as special projects. She works closely with the account management team, and makes sure “our team of engineers are doing their best for our clients.” Janelle is enthusiastic about her job with Ambient, she says, “because we have such a great group of people here who enjoy what they do and want to help our clients function better – I couldn’t ask for more.” In her spare time, Janelle enjoys “traveling, going to the gym, reading, puzzling, gaming with friends, and doing anything outdoors.”

Zac Goodman

SALES

Zac Goodman makes connections with people, cats and mountains. Zac says working at Ambient challenges him to keep learning. “The atmosphere is great, and it is obvious that this is a team focused on helping people,” Zac says. “As an account manager, my goal is to maintain and improve existing relationships and foster partnerships with our clients. Without our clients, we have nothing!” Zac enjoys skateboarding, rock climbing, PC gaming, and attending concerts. In the summer, he likes to go camping with friends; in the winter, he likes to snowboard. Family is everything: Zac says, “My partner and I are both middle children with two siblings, and we have a Nebelung cat (Also known as a long-hair Russian blue) named Prushka. Funny coincidence that we gave her a Russian name before we knew what breed she was.”

Andrew Wier

ENGINEER II

Andrew Weir does wonders with both computer and piano keyboards. At work, his IT technical strengths keep him busy with systems, applications, active directory, and user support. He says he loves using technology to solve problems. “I am excited to be at Ambient because of the variety of clients and work that we do.” At home, Andrew’s musical talents keep him busy at the piano. He also enjoys playing video games and spending time with family and friends.

Bryan Bell

ENGINEER III

Bryan Bell brings almost 20 years of IT experience to help businesses through any problem they face. His passion for security and reliability drives his never-ending search for knowledge. He strives to bring out the best in everyone, and will never turn down an opportunity to help someone learn a new skill. When not at work, he can usually be found with his kids, most often outside on some sort of adventure. When not there, he is an avid gamer who enjoys strategy games above all.

Felix Lerma

ENGINEER II

When Felix Lerma isn’t catching technical errors on a computer system, he’s catching plump rainbow trout on a river. About his job, he says, “I enjoy the variety of work I get at Ambient daily. The dynamic and fast-paced work keeps me interested in improving my technical skills to keep up with the changes in technology. I like all things IT, so this keeps me motivated to continue my education.” In his time off, “I am a certified fly-fishing instructor and advocate for Oregon Fish and Wildlife. I have volunteered for more than 10 years, instructing people of all ages on how to fish safely, and teaching conservation.”

Ian Doremus

ENGINEER II

Ian Doremus is a problem-solver and outdoorsman. “I really enjoy working for a company that makes customer service one of their top priorities,” he says. Ian says he shows up for work every day because he knows he can make a difference in people’s lives. “I get satisfaction from hearing the relief in a client’s voice when their problem is resolved and they can get back to what they were doing,” he says. Ian finds his job at Ambient “allows me to work with great people both in the company and with our clients,” he says. When Ian’s not working, “I love to ski, run relay races and travel.”

Joshua McTurnan

ENGINEER II

Joshua McTurnan is a round-the-clock explorer in cyberspace. “In my off time I dabble in technology, from IoT (Internet of Things) and home automation to gaming and entertainment,” he says. Joshua’s hobbies complement his career at Ambient. “I try to maintain an all-around grasp of technologies in personal and professional life,” he says. “This gives me some unique insights into how people live and work with technology, and I can identify where the breakdown between human and computer happens.”

Marcia Pendleton

DISPATCH

Marcia Pendleton is a solver and multi-tasker at both Ambient and in her spare time. At work, she brings her multi-tasking skills to help people “resolve issues, but in a new way.” She adds that her role gives her “the chance to learn new skills and gain some more technical knowledge.” Outside of work she enjoys puzzle competitions as well as spending time with two teenage daughters, an old Lab named May May, and three cats. She also likes to read and go to events around town with friends.

Matthew Hay

ENGINEER I

On the job, Matthew Hay dedicates his technical skills to Ambient clients. Off the job, he dedicates his dad skills to his family. “Outside of work I try to spend as much time with my kids as possible, and when I am not playing with them, I am playing guitar or fishing,” he says. Matthew adds, “I also love spending time maintaining and improving our acreage and home. My family is the most valuable thing to me, and I am truly blessed to have them.”

Paula Parker

FINANCE/HR

Paula Parker hits the books on and off the job. Paula says she learns something new every day at Ambient. “Listening to the engineers collaborate and advise each other on situations and projects provides a great deal of knowledge and really brightens my day,” she says. Paula’s strengths include “making sure the numbers work so the engineers can, too.” Outside of Ambient, she says she enjoys “spending time with my young adult kids, hiking waterfall trails, and relaxing with a good book.”

Trevor Stanwood​

ENGINEER II

For Trevor Stanwood, discovering a new technical solution for a client can be as satisfying as discovering a new mountain trail. Off the job, “I’m a nature enthusiast, always down for an adventure with my family and friends,” he says. Trevor enjoys “exploring trails, hitting the open road, or simply soaking up the peace of the outdoors.” He adds, “When I need a quieter form of exploration, I love to get lost in a good book.”
